Code of Conduct
Effective July 11, 2026
Cascade Virtual should feel welcoming, aviation-focused, and enjoyable for pilots of different backgrounds and experience levels. These standards apply on the website, in the Portal, on official Discord spaces, during events, and whenever a member represents Cascade Virtual on an online network.
Be respectful and inclusive
- Treat pilots, controllers, staff, developers, and guests with patience and respect.
- Do not harass, threaten, bully, stalk, discriminate, or use slurs or degrading sexual content.
- Respect names, boundaries, privacy, and reasonable requests to stop an unwanted interaction.
Protect operational integrity
- File honest PIREPs and do not manipulate telemetry, flight time, distance, progression, bids, events, or Altitude.
- Do not share accounts, exploit defects, bypass controls, or conceal a security issue. Report mistakes and vulnerabilities privately to staff.
- Use official downloads responsibly and do not redistribute private, paid, or member-only assets.
Fly responsibly online
- Follow the rules and controller instructions of VATSIM or any other network you use.
- Use an appropriate callsign, prepare before connecting, and avoid disrupting controllers or other pilots.
- Do not present yourself as a real-world Cascade flight, employee, or authority.
Keep content appropriate
- Do not post illegal, malicious, deceptive, sexually explicit, or personally identifying content.
- Avoid spam, repeated self-promotion, political provocation, and inflammatory off-topic arguments in official spaces.
- Credit creators and obtain permission before sharing another person’s work.
Staff responsibilities
Staff should apply rules consistently, protect confidential information, avoid conflicts of interest, explain decisions when practical, and use elevated access only for legitimate Cascade Virtual duties.
Reporting and enforcement
Report conduct concerns privately to staff with relevant context or evidence. Do not organize public retaliation. Staff may use reminders, content removal, record correction, warnings, temporary restrictions, suspension, or removal depending on severity, history, and risk. Good-faith reporting is protected; knowingly false or retaliatory reports may themselves violate this code.
Questions
When unsure, ask Cascade Virtual staff through the official Discord linked from cascadevirtual.org. We would rather clarify expectations early than repair harm later.
